PJK speaking at the DC parity hearing

On June 26, 2012 I was honored to be a part of another Mental Health Parity hearing held in Washington D.C., organized by  the Parity Implementation Coalition.  Joining me at the event was former Congressman Jim Ramstad, Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Congressman Jim Moran, and Congressman Paul Tonko. Along with these Congressman, we were able to hear from three panels of witnesses including Dr. Paul Berger, Ann Price and Adrian Veseth-Nelson.

These hearings are designed to highlight problems that patients are facing as they try to access mental health and addiction treatment and to discuss where parity is increasing access to care. I want to extend a big “thank you” to all of those who attended and participated in the hearing. Let’s keep working together to ensure mental health parity is implemented for all.

The next hearing will be July 16, 2012 in St.Paul, MN and is open to the public. To find out more information about this hearing and others, please visit the PIC website.
